Our History
Michael Benevento emigrated from Montemarano, Italy in 1916 at the age of 16. Working in the construction trades, he established M. Benevento Co. in 1934 in Lynn, MA.
Michael’s only son John returned from serving in General Pattons 3rd Army in 1946. The company moved to Wilmington, MA that same year and began a mining operation that has grown to what it is today – the Benevento Family of Companies. Today, the company is led by Michael’s grandson Charlie and fourth generation family members Johnny and Michael.
Benevento Companies today is a fully integrated material supply business, with mining operations in Wilmington, MA, Loudon, NH, Pembroke, NH and Belmont, NH. These plants allow us to self-supply material to our 3 concrete and 2 asphalt plants, as well as local and municipal customers. Benevento Companies continues to grow through our dedication to service, quality, and the basic principle that our customers come first.
